Our Language

Nsyilxcən

This is the language of who we are. Our language is interconnected and woven into the syilx nation. In many ways we are still recovering from significant loss of nsyilxcən in our day to day living.  Although that is a part of our truth we are still devoted to ensuring our Language and Culture continues to prosper for many generations ahead of us. The nsyilxcən language provides us hope in our individual identities and enhances our ability to succeed on our many travels. This language has been alive since time immemorial and is deeply routed into our sacred lands. When we listen closely, and understand clearly, we can be offered special reminders of how nurtured we are as people who live on these lands.
